Hulu later dropped the full trailer for the miniseries on July 20, 2022, which gave us a better glimpse of the series. It hits on many of the same notes and scenes from the teaser. It contains a monologue from Tyson where he exclaims "Who am I? People just see an animal. They call me a savage. I'm the most vicious ruthless champion there's ever been," before going on to play into people’s vision of him as a monster by saying "I want your heart, I want to eat your children." This trailer alludes to Tyson’s run-ins with the law and stints in jail, and we see Tyson getting his mugshot taken while wearing an orange jumpsuit. An ensuing scene of Givens in a courtroom underscores that this series will not shy away from what some might call the darker side of Tyson’s character. We even get a flash of a mid-fight scene where Tyson looks to be inching his mouth closer to his opponent. Could this be their depiction of Tyson going in for the most infamous bite in boxing history? The trailer ends with a striking scene of Tyson in bleach-white boxers. He is shirtless, standing outside holding a chained white tiger laying at his feet.

In August 1998, in yet another outburst, Tyson assaulted two motorists after a car accident in Maryland dented his Mercedes. He pleaded no contest to second-degree assault for the attack. The judge sentenced Tyson to two concurrent two-year sentences, but he was given only one year of jail time, a $5,000 fine, and 200 hours of community service. He was released after serving nine months.

Tyson trained heavily for a rematch with Holyfield, and on June 28, 1997, the two boxers faced off again. The fight was televised on pay-per-view and entered nearly 2 million households, setting a record at the time for the highest number of paid television viewers. Both boxers also received record purses for the match, making them the highest-paid professional boxers in history until 2007.

Over the next six years, before declaring bankruptcy in 2003, Tyson squandered away hundreds of millions of dollars. According to The New York Times, the former champion spent upwards of $173,000 on a gold chain lined with 80 carats in diamonds, simply because he saw it in a Las Vegas jewelry store. This was the norm. He also never paid for it. Many stores assumed Tyson would be good for the money, simply because he was Tyson. That was, of course, until there was no money. Mordechi Yerrushalmi told The New York Times:

Boxing is such an enigma, as a sport. This is what really matters: in two hundred years from now, there will probably only be five fighters that people will remember. That’s what it’s all about. It’s not about having money, about becoming rich. That they won’t stop mentioning your name until the planet’s disintegrated: that’s what this is really about. People are stating their names in the art of pugilist, fisticuff, combat, fighting. I like the word "fighting". That’s not a politically correct word in this field anymore. Fighting is not cool, now. It can conjure up negative stuff, but not if you use it in a spiritual perspective. Fighting is spiritual, but you just can’t see the spiritual in it because it’s mostly dominated by the physical aspect. We want to be Achilles in our own mind. The king of all the fighters.

On August 13, 2003, Tyson entered the ring for a face-to-face confrontation against K-1 fighter Bob Sapp immediately after Sapp's win against Kimo Leopoldo in Las Vegas. K-1 signed Tyson to a contract with the hopes of making a fight happen between the two, but Tyson's felony history made it impossible for him to obtain a visa to enter Japan, where the fight would have been most profitable. Alternative locations were discussed, but the fight ultimately did mike tyson and ip man fight in real life not take place.

You find out you’re not. You’re capable of going to jail, you’re capable of dying, you’re capable of being mistreated. I don’t really expect bad things to happen to me, but when they do happen to me, I understand it and am able to handle it. I’ve handled bad stuff before, that’s been my life. So I don’t trip over bad things. I know shit happens. When bad things happen, I will be still striving to do something. I won’t be discouraged.

Last year’s back surgery and a serious car accident in February limited Woods’ prize money to less than $200,000 over the past 12 months, but he still collected $62 million off the course and ranked 13th on Sportico’s list of the world’s highest-paid athletes.

simpli.comFollowing his daughter's passing, Tyson told Oprah Winfrey he wasn't sure of what really happened on that fateful day, but, if he were to find out the truth, he could certainly point fingers at someone. "And if there's somebody to blame for it," he said, "there will be a problem."

Tyson played a couple of matches post the Lewis match. He underperformed in all of them. His last professional outing was at the match against Kevin McBride on June 11, 2005. He quit the match and announced his retirement before the start of the seventh round.
